I like how the doctor in the video, the director of the gender transition program, claims the identification is not a choice, but rather biologically programmed. It’s nice that both sides of the debate can, at some point, admit to the existence of biological facts.

Somewhere I saw a column that said this stuff is the "Lobotomy of the 21st Century."
Maybe it was a post?

If this is real biology rather than a socially transmitted fad, there must be 10s of thousands of elderly people who remember having felt trapped in the wrong body, as a child. It would be interesting to ask them whether they regret not having been able to transition, or if, in retrospect, they are glad they soldiered through as the gender they were born to.
Humans are so completely programmable. Even if there is a genetic component to one’s identity which is independent of one’s x and Y chromosomes, it must still be normal to feel like you appear, after a lifetime of feedback from the world that that is what you are. But inner turmoil could easily manifest as a catch-all blame game of gender dysphoria. And if society encourages that blame game, voila, it’s real. Similar to the race narrative, in a way. These mind worms can be very powerful.

Over the past 40 years, we have seen a bizarre shift where as a whole we no longer understand the difference between causal and corollary relationships. Most unfortunately, this has even moved into science and medicine.
