The crew started cutting and baling hay last tuesday, and they finally finished today, just ahead of some rain. We do the big 1,000 pound round bales and line them up end to end in a row wrapped in plastic. I have never seen so many bales come out of those fields in my life. Easily twice as much as last year. Wayyy more than needed. I would sell some of it, but everyone else had a bumper crop this year too.
Soon - harvesting wheat.... I don't even know how to start the tractors, much less use one.. but I can drive out into the fields and give orders!!!

A farmer's world...Too much or too little.
Congrats on getting your gay baked before the rain. For those who don't know, that's a big deal!

I can only imagine.
That's my crazy autocorrect, which should have said "hay baled". I thought it was so bad, I left it.

Bad news out here. Hay has been knocked down flat by the persistent rains. May end up being a straw harvest, or worst case burn the fields.
Not sure about east of the Cascades, likely just fine. -

I find that if you pound them with a metal meat mallet a little and then bake them at a lower temperature they're not so tough....

If you told my crew you were baking gays they'd look at you like you were crazy...
Well...all of them except one guy named Bruce.. we're not sure about him...

@Larry How many cuttings of hay are you able to get a year? Three?
