This is from this morning, just a few feet from my porch chair.

Hummers like sheets of water, not deep fountains. That's why we designed this fountain with cut bluestone flat tiers. It's not easy to happen to have the phone camera ready, but this one has been coming to bathe often enough to catch him in the act.
We have other small birds that like the flat stones, too. There's a sparrow that has been a frequent visitor, and a very energetic bather!
