As he's named 'Charles Philip Arthur George', I'm a little disappointed that he didn't go with the name 'Arthur'. There'd be a big debate whether he should be Arthur I, or Arthur II.

Pelosi orders Capitol flags to be flown at half-staff. That’s rarely done for non-Americans.
Considering she was Queen back when Truman was President... jeez, I had to stop writing after I wrote that. That's mind boggling. She was Queen a good 7 years before Castro even took over Cuba.

I know she was old, but I haven't seen a mention of the cause.
Has there been a mention of this yet?
I believe skydiving.
Bond finally screwed up…

Seems correct, though if William has it for some decades you could imagine him developing quite a bit of gravitas over time.
Indeed, I think William will provide another 40-50 years of solid monarchy rule, then another 40-50 years by his son George.
That being said, the monarchy is certainly a "thing" that doesn't really fit in with the fast-moving culture that must be politically correct, woke, anti-rich, anti-white, etc.......but it seems as long as the Brits support it, it will exist, for whatever purpose it serves these days.

I really think they fade away after this. Felipe of Spain is the last real European monarch of importance.

Seen on a blog:
"I'm an American. I can NOT hear this song without hearing the words to My Country 'Tis Of Thee, either in my head or, if I'm alone, out loud. That's how I learned it as a child, and that's how it stuck. Today, in Her Majesty's honor, I'm sticking to the original."

O Lord our God arise,
Scatter our enemies,
And make them fall!
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
God save us all! -

We'd better hope pro-rich survives.
Well unfortunately I think there's a false narrative out there that if someone gets rich, another person gets poor. It's not zero sum. That being said, it's not like the monarchy worked for their money the way Bezos, or Musk, or Aqua at the bike shop have.

In terms of social status, it's zero sum. Relative position on the hierarchy is zero sum, unless one can successfully convince two different people that they are both superior to each other. Toys and food and shelter, though, are definitely not zero sum.

You think Bezos and Musk made their money because of how hard they worked?
They're mostly rich for the same reason that Charles is rich - luck. Also, his ancestors were really good at fighting. Mike Tyson's great-grandson will probably be King of America. There's a gazillion people like Bezos and Musk out there who didn't get lucky, but worked just as hard.
-
Hard workers are literally a dime a dozen. Maybe not literally but close. They are rich because they had good ideas about how to make money in the free market. Maybe some courage or willingness to take calculated risks. But if you wanted to boil down their success to a single overriding factor, it would be that they are smart within the profitable domains they choose to compete in.
-
Smart, brave and lucky. Not necessarily in that order.
Obviously, they wouldn't have made money without the entrepreneurial spirit, but they also wouldn't have made it without the luck of being in the right place at the right time.
If Bill Gates had sold the copyright for DOS to IBM, it's possible that nobody would have heard of him today. In retrospect what he did was a really smart decision, but he was also amazingly lucky.
