Record Low Fertility Rate — South Korea

In 2021, South Korea’s fertility rate dropped to 0.81, probably the lowest in the world. The reason is pretty mundane — cost of living/raising a child is so high that most people don’t want to have kids. (In comparison, the USA and China’s fertility rate is around 1.6~1.7, Italy’s is around 1.3, Japan’s around 1.4. It needs to be around 2.1 to maintain equilibrium. Some African countries have fertility rates greater than 5.)

Yeah I think I've mentioned before that Nigeria will be the 3rd largest country in the world within the next 30 years. Or something like that.
