Excellent! I'm looking now at reworking our deck for a covered dining/ grilling area, with a drop down screen for movies. Polycarbonate sheets for the skylight.
The big impetus is to make a louvered wall that blocks views from the neighbor and the parking area, to focus on the distant wooded vistas.
Also, upgrading the white vinyl balusters to black metal, to open the view and for easier cleaning (too much mold from adjacent tree pollen).

There are times when I lurch into inspiration. Mama always said I had talent. 😂 😄 🤣

Maybe LD can put in a good word next time they meet up for dinner.

Wow! You're doing it right. I had plans to get a polycarbonate roof at first as well. I could not for the life of me get someone out to install it.

That looks fantastic. Love the louvered side walls.

@Ivorythumper That looks great. Would you consider a fire pit feature near the couches? Any updates regarding "the" tree?

@89th We have a fire pit/ table for the seating area, as well as patio heaters. Pretty cozy and good for s'mores.

As for the tree, still working through the attorneys for a sit down with the neighbors. The tree will be cut back one way or the other. Either they will do it, which would be more beneficial to tree, or we will, which won't be the least bit beneficial to the tree -- and we'll present their attorney the bill to be paid. If they refuse we'll take it to small claims court, which is a well established right in PA that people who have to self remedy against trespass can recover costs.

@Ivorythumper sounds like the 2nd TNCR party is at your house then, after @xenon

Heck if the tree isn’t cut by then, we could all drink while we watch @Jolly do it for free!
