"Worst disaster in the last decade"

    Recent video: https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/comments/wy7fmg/the_worst_flood_ever_in_pakistan_happening_right/

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said in a report that, in the last 24 hours, 150 kilometres of roads had been damaged across the country, and over 82,000 homes have been partially or fully damaged.

Since mid-June, when the monsoon began, over 3,000 kilometres of road, 130 bridges and 495,000 homes have been damaged, according to NDMA's last situation report, figures also echoed in the OHCA report.

Yeah, they have it pretty bad over there.

The other country in the region that often suffers floods is Bangladesh. I use to hear more flood-related bad news from Bangladesh than from Pakistan. So seeing this Pakistani news, I also looked up Bangladesh, and sure enough:

“Bangladesh reels from the worst flooding in nearly 20 years”

@89th after just finishing five days at memorial, I don’t think that in terms of disaster management the US can do better. Just as third world as Pakistan.

I assume the book, right? Only 5 out of 8 episodes have aired.

@George-K oh I thought five days meant five episodes.

              Three more???

Seemed like it was over at five days with the evacuations.

The fallout...the grand jury, etc are yet to come.
