Subtitled: A Parent’s Worst Nightmare…
I got a message around 7:30 from another forum member letting me know that he and his family were in my town and looking for a good restaurant for dinner before they went home.
By coincidence, Finley, Karla, and I were considering a late dinner option ourselves, so I suggested the 6 of us get together…
It went well enough despite the other member and I getting into a drunken dispute about the nature of love and moral overtures of quiet quitting… Fortunately, our lovely wives kept us from going too far afield.
The scary part was the kids that got along really well. I mean exceedingly well. I mean so well that Finley is still crying over their separation … I’m afraid that we are going to have to get together with this family again, and soon. Lord grant me patience….

Direct quote I heard in between breaths of collective hot air:
Waiter: "You all doing okay over here?"
(Unnamed party): "Yeah we're all talking religion and politics and no one's killed anybody so we're doing okay."The scary part was the kids that got along really well. I mean exceedingly well. Somebody kept saying, "play with Finley? We play with Finley." on the car-ride home. So, uh, yeah. I'm sorry.

We don't get invited. That's why we have to meet up ourselves.

IPAs are a lazy man's beverage.
OK, I'm almost interested....can you expand on this?
I do hope that nobody extolled the virtues of massively over-priced Belgian swill.

The process to make it is the quickest and dirtiest in the entirety of the beer kingdom, it tastes like piss, but hey, lookit that ABV!
I do hope that nobody extolled the virtues of massively over-priced Belgian swill.
How very dare you.
