Wow I remember when he joined and there was a long debate if he was a sock puppet or not. As moderator I had to try to figure that out but ultimately didn't do anything IIRC. I recall his first mentions of being sick were even thought as immature ploys to further his puppetry, which obviously ended up not being the case.
He and Lucy came to my place in Brooklyn, and later when he was sick he would stay at my London flat when he came up for treatment. (By then he was with a different girl and living in the south of England.)
I spoke to him days before he died. He knew it was the end. I had tentative plans to visit him in the hospital but when the day came he wasn’t up to it.

Howdy Blondie! How are things in Cowtown, Alberta? Will be passing through there on Stoney Trail come Saturday after three weeks in The land of Bring Cash on my back home to Edmonchuk.
Hope all is well with you and the family. We should chat sometime- a lot of water under the bridge since we last spoke.

Blondie!!! Please stay and post with us as often as you can. You are always a ray of sunshine, and we need lots of that here.
You will also want to meet our new forum members, including our Cats. I think you two will get along very well and enjoy each other's humor.
Golly, it's so good to see you here again!

nothing brings a family together like weddings and funerals
Old joke:
Q: What's the difference between an Irish wedding and an Irish funeral?
A: One less drunk.
