CNN: Prices of food & gas fall

Price of fuel affects the price of groceries. Trucks burn ultra-low sulfur diesel, which had really gotten expensive.
As for this fall, I dunno. Wheat's up. Current price of beans is over $17/bushel. Might be interesting.

Who you gonna believe, the President or your own lying wallet?
I’ll believe the BLS.
But people really don’t have a sense of “0% inflation this month = prices aren’t up from last month”. People have anchored in their mind what prices “should” be, and they are still higher than that, ergo “we still have inflation”.
I think what most people would subjectively interpret as “inflation went down to 0” would be a return to summer 2021 price levels. But in reality that would be significant deflation.

Perception is reality.

I was looking at the Chicago Mercantile. Are the prices the same in Canada?
