While Harris usually has an interesting podcast, I thought this was one of the best in recent months with guests Peter Zeihan and Ian Bremmer. The discussion focused on Peter Zeihan's new book The End of the World is Just the Beginning. I found the discussion compelling - including the coming demographic collapse -( i.e.oodles of old folks - not so many young), the differing fates of China and America, as well as Russia and the war in Ukraine among other topics.

They kind of suggest that things are about as good as they're going to be for quite a whlle - with a fairly pessimistic view of the future - demographics being a major driving force of that pessimisim.

There was a video a few weeks/months ago here about the Chinese demographic problem and eventual collapse as a world power. The link is below but suspiciously it's no longer available. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Anyway, I'll play this podcast now so it'll ruin my day. 🙂

I am reminded of Asimov's Foundation series.

“I am fond of pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals.” ~Winston S. Churchill
