Be sure to eat your food using only your fork prongs up. Only use your knife to cut food then immediately put it aside. Under no circumstances should you use your knife to put food on your fork. That is is the role of bread.

As for gifts, I suggest a tin of spotted dick.

Thanks. My company is cheap and I'll be flying coach. While I'm there, I'll be in an office in meetings all day. I don't anticipate having much fun, but I decided to go anyway. It'll be over soon, and I'll be glad I went.

Hopefully you're close to the city itself rather than on an industrial estate - it's definitely worth trying to get a day in the town itself if you can, even if it's just to take in the architecture.

                I was only joking

Do you know somebody at the university? A dinner in one of their colleges is an unforgettable experience.

This has nothing to do with the university. A contracting company we work with has its offices there.

@Horace Hopefully you have some free time or evenings to explore.

But I know that those types of trips after a long day, you just want to go back to your room and relax.

What, and miss the chance at having a warm, flat, beer?
