So how come he hasn’t been charged with any of these heinous crimes?

          Well, he was impeached twice.

          How’d that work out? LOL.

I've wondered about that myself. The only answer I have is probably very unsatisfactory. He's an ex-President, not like the ordinary accused. It is not for the unwashed like thee and me to know the answer. Probably a 100 permutations and way more than 100 people worked to make it not happen, for many reasons. Probably we'll never learn the truth.

Plus, he's Trump. He's been squirreling out from under crooked shit his whole life.

Breaking my resolution to not discuss Trump because your question is a reasonable one.

It's a valid question. They've had almost six years where they have been trying to stick something to him, without success. Could it be there's no there there legally?

I doubt it. The "they" who've been trying to stick it to him are subject to the same deep complications as anybody attempting a major development in Washington -- not the least of which is that as many "they" as there are, there are that many people in his corner, who don't want him prosecuted for their own reasons.

That's the conspiracy theory angle, which I don't believe either. Congress is composed of a whole bunch of lawyers who each have a bunch more lawyers at their service. If this bunch of legal minds can't come up with something as hard as they have tried, I have to believe there's nothing to find.

                      They aren't really trying

They want the story alive, if it died they wouldn't know what to do.

If they could have hung something on him, they would've. The January 6 hearings only exist to politically wound Trump.

Musing...Ya know, if elected in 2024, he might just catch the wave of a rebounding economy.

Wouldn't that be a hoot? Trump takes office and Happy days Are Here Again!

I certainly hope he does not run. On one side I think that the Democrats would be happy if he runs. He is too devisive for the middle voters who will decide the election.

@mik you asked about why President Trump has to been charged.

Insert X name here. There are alot of forum threads about Hilary Clinton and all her supposed crimes. Why hasn't she been charged? There are alot of forum threads on President Biden and all the supposed stuff he did. Why hasn't he been charged?

Maybe there is no there there either.

It's the economy, stupid. Carrville's words, not mine.

True, even with all of Trump's baggage.

Probably. I think the threshold is really high since he's a former President. He also is really smart and I can imagine insulates himself quite well... look at how many of his former colleagues and employees have gone to jail, but not him.
