That's why I keep saying, this is all about Trump.
Even those (defund the cops LA/NY) that don't realize it, it's all about Trump.

      No, it predates Trump.

      Only non-witches get due process.

I agree, Jon. You are right.
        It is Obama's fault.

All politics boils down to race, as far as the left is concerned. Which makes every position of the left virtuous and non-negotiable, in the same way that being against slavery is non-negotiable. That is the power of our racism narrative and that's why the left will never allow it go away. No matter how many generations of American black folk have to be raised with diseased ideas being taught to them about how much everybody hates them.

          Education is extremely important.

Alright, I admit this was a quick exercise, but basically what I did was I took all violent crime offenders by race and compared police deaths by race, and it came out to 0.19% of whites are killed by police, and 0.15% of blacks are killed by police. If you look at all crimes (not just violent), it's about the same % (so, essentially no difference in skin color).

I used FBI crime numbers for 2017-2019 as my source.

Again.....I took about 5 minutes to run these numbers, am I missing something obvious?

What I said before still stands: if we're talking real honest-to-God progress with race in the U.S., I think the "well-off white folk" have a responsibility to reach out to the black community and try to have an objective conversation. This kind of information is a good place to start. And the black community has a responsibility to listen objectively, respond, and then we go from there.

Like any good compromise even this suggestion is sure to piss off a ton of people, but I was talking about progress, not one group or the other having positive feels.

            Please love yourself.

I'd imagine the response, and likely a valid one, would be "Yeah but...in MY community we see X, Y, Z." Everything is local, every situation is different, it all starts in the home and in the local community. Unfortunately, with 24/7 news hype and infinite-scroll social media, it doesn't seem like this type of approach will ever gain traction.

Yeah, well, no one's interested in reading the mea culpa script from the white guilt playbook, and pretending there's actually nothing going on in our poor communities hasn't worked for decades and decades either, so I still stand by my stupid idea.

                Please love yourself.

                  I can dig it.

Really, all I can control is how I treat others, and to raise my daughter accordingly. Lots of micro actions by everyone would result in a macro change.

Progress is unattainable when the "victim" relishes their role.
