25% of Americans believe that God plays a role in who wins the Super Bowl.
11% of Americans believe that HTML is a venereal disease.
18% believe that Blu-Ray is a kind of sea creature.

Seems like nobody here understood his point. Remember they still are operating on the ‘putin is the reason for high gas prices’ message.
So the liberal world order he’s referring to isn’t as opposed to a conservative world order. It’s as opposed to dictators launching wars of empire at will.

It's 'liberal world order' as in 'liberal democracy'
Long, long ago, 'liberal' was actually a compliment.

Perhaps. Still a poor choice of phrase to use world order of any sort these days.

I confess I also took it the wrong way -- and nodded along with your doubt that it was authentic. But I like the notion of people like him using terms in their proper context -- the more often, the better. The more it happens, the greater the support against misuse and miscommunication.

Not sure I understand. How was that the proper context? It seemed to me inflammatory for no reason.

I'm sure if I Googled for hours, I could find a couple of examples of certain former Presidents and their spokespeople saying insanely stupid shit.
Luckily for everyone, I can't be bothered.

See Phibes' post at #11.
It probably was inflammatory, but only because he was misunderstood. But if we cease using words with accuracy for fear of inflaming the ignorant, we're giving in to ignorance.

It's actually worse than that. he's still blaming high gas prices on Russia. It was over $4 a year before they invaded. Such bullshit, and his attitude is atrocious.

I disagree that his words were clear or accurate in any way.

"Liberal world order"
Wow
He was so comfortable using a sickening phrase like that.
That means he sits in the oval office with other people who use that phrase, and they all think it is good.
Terrifying

It's likely he meant "western democracy" rather than "liberal", but the word choice was sloppy and likely indicative of how he thinks and how it all merges into one sloppy tribal mess of ideas. It's what they call a Freudian slip.

Let's be honest, gaffes are only serious and indicative of a greater malaise when the other guy does them.

Per this month's Harpers Index - citing a Yahoo/YouGov Poll, half of Republicans believe that high-level Democrats run a child sex-trafficking ring.

Oh, I think he was clear. I understood him perfectly well. I'd think a lot of other people did, too.
Any damn fool that strings that phrase together in an interview, and supposedly represents the Executive Branch in some capacity, should know better.

Yep. I think he was on it once. And that appears to be a grown woman with him (Melania).
How many times was Bill on there?
And did it count towards his 2000 woman total, since it is rumored Bill was having sex with underage girls??

Liberal World Order is a bit of an oxymoron, no? I feel like Liberal World Free-for-all would've been better. Donnybrook? Melee? Brouhaha?

The flight logs are out there.
By right, I'm assuming you meant their right.
