So how much of a difference do you think the decision will affect the elections in November?

On a National level, I’m not sure that it will change much. Yes, there will be some extra motivation on the left, but there will also be some more on the right. Overall, I still think we see a 20-30 seat majority for Republicans in the House and a 1-2 seat majority in the Senate.

State and Local Elections will be MUCH more interesting, OTOH. Young has already announced a proposed 15 week ban in Virginia. That can have a huge effect on the state legislature races.

I agree the effect on the federal level will be self-cancelling. If it gets people more involved in in state races that’s a good thing.

        It's the economy, stupid.

Of the people who voted in the Virginia governor's race that said abortion was one of their primary issues, over 60% voted for Youngkin.

And that's after his opponent making a big deal about the issue.

Very little near term effect. I think the effect will come eventually from overreach in purple to light red states, from passing overly restrictive laws. But that will take time.

Agree with the above. The Democrats are too far behind right now, that I think this will maybe allow them to gain a few seats but not enough to make a big difference.

Possible impact on president race in two years. The middle voters who decide every election may lean more towards the democrats.

BUT, only if the economy is better. As @Jolly y said, it is the economy.

Anyone else see the irony of using the word mid-term?

I believe the democrats will see the error of their ways.

                  They will stop advocating abortion.

It's the right thing to do.
