For any rioters arrested and convicted, let's assess fines large enough to cover the damage they caused. For example, throwing a brick at a cop and missing, gets you a $250 fine. Throwing a brick through a store window, means the rioters pays a fine equal to the cost of replacing the window. Torch a car, and the rioters might be on the hook for a few thousand to tens of thousands of dollars.

No money, no problem.

Until the fine is paid, A) if working a job, the paycheck will be garnished, until the fine is paid, B) if a student, student loans will be suspended until the fine is paid, or C) if on the dole, all benefits with the exception of Medicaid and food stamps are suspended, until the fine is paid.

Not true for all, but true for many.

Jolly, love the idea. I’ve said it many times here, I hope they go back and review video footage closely over the next few weeks months and even years to charge folks who were attacking cops and businesses.
