quite a remarkable collections of photographs

when everyone is so deeply partisan, and when monarchies seem so anachronistic, can we agree that Elizabeth II is really quite an extraordinary monarch?

Indeed, and not just because of her longevity on the throne.

The role of the monarchy is nothing like it was centuries ago, of course, but it's wonderful to have a person who defines grace and elegance in that role.

        Will Charles be the same?

He has a hard act to follow but he knows his duty. He will, as an “Englishman”and Prince of Wales, do his duty when the time comes.

I was discussing the Royals (does that need to be capitalized?) with my bride today.

What is the general feeling toward Phillip in the Commonwealth. Also, what's the feeling toward Camilla?

When Charles ascends to the throne, what will her title be? I assume she won't be queen, right?

Don’t really understand the question about Philip.

As for Camilla she will remain Her Royal Highness Duchess of Cornwall as King’s consort. She never be regarded as Queen any more than Philip was regarded King. He was a Prince by birth and his ranking was that of a Royal. Camilla was not of royal pedigree and Charles’ marriage to her is therefore morganatic.

In earlier times William’s marriage to Kate would have been considered morganatic, as would Charles’ marriage to Diana, but the Queen cleared all the necessary obstacles for their offspring to inherit Royal ranking.

He was never beloved. His station in life was always that of a step behind the Queen. He understood that - or better, came to understand that.

He was however highly respected among Commonwealth military circles. He was always most comfortable and at his best among the military.

                      Ok learned a new word

                      morganatic.

I can honestly say in all my 63 years I have never come across that word.

morgasm yes. had those lots of times. But not morganatic.

Imagine..... 70 years on the throne...

If I sit on the throne more than 20 minutes my legs go to sleep.....

I'm not sure I buy the 'mobility issues' line they're peddling about the Queen.

If anyone is capable of moving in all directions it's her.
