Turkey has now stated it will not block either Finland or Sweden from becoming NATO members.
Putin wanted less NATO as a war aim and is now getting even more NATO than he ever imagined.
All I can say is, sad Christmas for Putin.
Wonder what the Turks got in return?
Apparently not enough baksheesh:

Bastards.

Bastards.
Interesting , and sad.
Not surprising, though. Turkey's always been a wild-card in all this BS.
I have to agree and wonder what pressure was applied by Putin vs the rest of NATO in getting to this point.

Erdogan may yet change his mind, again. Curious though that he waited this long to express his concerns. More baksheesh might calm his mind.

“Can Turkey be Expelled from NATO?”

That’s from 2019. As it is, NATO currently does not have a procedure to expel a member state.

Putin smiled.
Ayup...
I'm sure that Erdogan understands his strategic significance, and he'll leverage that to the best of his ability.

Prediction: Sweden and Finland will end their sanctions on Turkey, Turkey will end its objections, and SE and FI join NATO.

Please elaborate. I was not aware that these countries had sanctions against Turkey.
Or, send me a google link if you're feeling lazy, of course.

In this regard, the Turkish authoritarian and kleptocrat seems to resemble no one more than former Illinois governor and convicted felon Rod Blagojevich who, when he found out he could appoint Barack Obama's successor to the U.S. Senate, famously said, “I've got this thing and it's f---ing golden. I'm not just giving it up for f---ing nothing.”

LOL.
Illinois, where our governors not only issue license plates, they actually fucking make them.
I worked with a nurse who went to school with Blago: "He was a punk then, and he's a punk now."
Sorry for the diversion...continue.

I think Putin has at least twenty-seven 8 x 10 coloured glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one one explaining what Erdogan is doing on that frame.

Cultural reference of the day.
