Also - go to a developing country, and you can see dangerous shit with a modern twist.
I haven't been to India in over a decade - but my last driver there had replaced his rear-view with a rear-view shaped video screen. He watched a soap opera while driving me to my destination.

You know it's interesting with smoking... my son is 5 and I don't think he's even seen people doing it. If he saw someone doing it, he'd have no conception if it's good or bad.
I distinctly remember being told it was very bad as a young kid.
That’s your age. When I grew up everyone smoked, everywhere.

And my "everywhere," it was EVERYWHERE.
In the mid-late 1970s, there was an ashtray at every nursing station.
Mrs. George was working CCU one night, and a cardiologist sat down at the desk, next to her, and lit a cigar.
A certain chest-cutter, he was rather crazy, walked into an OR where the residents were working with a lit cigarette, dropped an ash into the open chest cavity - it's sterile, you know. This guy would walk into a post-op patient's room, the patient had just had a lung removed for cancer, with a lit cigarette, and point at the
victimpatient with the cigarette. "You know you got the cancer because of all the goddamn cigarettes you smoked." I don't remember what Louis died of, but I don't think it was lung cancer. -

I got in a taxi in Taiwan once, and the driver had a video screen by the center gear shift and was watching a blue movie!
