COVID Death Among The Vaccinated
-
About 42% of COVID deaths in January and February, according to the Washington Post...
-
Well, that means that 58% are unvaccinated.
And since the unvaccinated are a lower per cent of the population (30% or less I think in the US), the rate of dying is quite a bit higher if you are unvaccinated .
-
Yes, you would expect higher rates among the unvaxxed, but we were told, repeatedly, that if we were vaccinated we wouldn't die.
Therefore, since we had 60,000 deaths in the U.S. in January, I would say that percentage is fairly significant.
-
@Jolly you, more than most of the general population, realizes, I am sure that science, diseases, and the study of them changes.
In any case, if 1.5 years ago ,they said:
"We have a vaccine. It will make you many times less likely to die of COVID. It is still possible to die of COVID, even if you have the vaccine, and the disease may mutate, and form different varieties. With these new varieties, there still is a chance that a vaccinated person will die of COVID. But we repeat, getting vacccinated improves your odds by alot"
If they said the above, how would that change things?
-
"You're not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations" - Joe Biden
Now, tell me again...What part of that statement did I misunderstand?
-
Yes, you would expect higher rates among the unvaxxed, but we were told, repeatedly, that if we were vaccinated we wouldn't die.
Who are we? “We” were told nothing of the sort you describe. “We” were told that the vaccine would only lessen the chances of severe illness and complications leading to death. Fairly reasonable statement that has proven to be accurate. No silver bullet.
There are folks here that would agree with you. To them I say they only heard and continue to believe what they want to hear. They are still wrong headed about the subject.

You need to listen to Mr. Biden. He's POTUS, a pretty important guy...

We were told exactly what Jolly quoted.
His Biden quote is accurate.
I doubt if anyone believed it. I doubt Mr. Biden believed it.
But the president decided to sell the vaccines by telling tall tales.
His media machine even admits he was wrong, he was lying. But they do it in a gentle way.
BIDEN: “You’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations.” — town hall.
THE FACTS: Again, he painted with too broad a brush

I have no doubt of that.
We were told otherwise as I pointed out. We
do not pay attention to what the POTUS has to say about public health matters that affect us.We are a very different “we” from yours and
Jolly’s wee-wee. -
-
60,000 deaths in January. 42% vaxxed.
-
OTOH, there is a difference between dying with COVID and dying from COVID. I doubt those numbers take that into account. I suspect the elderly have very high vaccination rates.
-
Sure, any of these numbers need long explanations to make them absolutely accurate.
As we know, it is possible to be vaccinated and no longer have any anti-bodies.
But, I think the point was that Mr. Biden was handing out bad information. And he probably knew it, or should have known it.
He has never been very trustworthy, and this just makes him a little less.
-
Mr. Biden only sats what the voice in his ear-piece tells him to say.
