Happy Easter everyone!
A quiet Easter here. Sent goodies to kiddo and wished her a happy Easter in a message already this morning. Planning to have a little online chat together later.Already made our Easter treats here of chocolate and lemon baked bunny cakelets. Just a small dinner. I will give the froggos an Easter cricket hunt.

It’s a very strange year for us…
Normal Easter:
5:30 AM Wake up and get coffee
6:00 AM Wake up Lucas for Easter Basket/Easter Egg Treasure Hunt (each year got harder, last year’s clued involved solving calculus equations and the solutions were geo-cached coordinates. We had to finish that one in the afternoon)
7:00 AM Make Breakfast, walk dogs, and drink coffee while Luke and Karla get showered and ready.
7:45 Breakfast
8:00 Head to Church to prep choir, Praise Team, Hymns, and Special Music and lead rehearsal.
10:00 Church Service
11:30 Go home, have s light snack/lunch and start preparing large meal for 4:00 with enough leftovers to eat for days…This year Luke is staying on campus to finish his semester projects and prep for finals… No big Easter Egg Search (Finley’s still at the plastic egg in the yard phase…), we’re not going to that church anymore (we’ll just go to a 10:30 service at a nearby chapel), and since it’s just the three of us (and Karla and I are watching what we eat) having days worth of ham and carb loaded casseroles makes no sense…
So we’re sleeping in, doing a small Easter Egg Search and Basket with Finley, going to church, then sn Easter Brunch at the local pub and going back out for dinner. Low-key and no stress…
This year he’s staying on campus and Finley’s too small for anything beyond some plastic Easter eggs in the yard… So no big project.
On top of that, we left that Church and are currently only visiting Churches while looking for a new one, so we won’t be there until 10:30. That feels very odd…
Normally we would then go home and have a light lunch with hors d’oeuvres while prepping the ham and sides for a big meal at
Lucas is staying at school this weekend as he needs to finish a lot of projects this week and prep for finals the week after… So we had an instacart delivery tss as ken to him with a bunch of Easter candy and snacks…

So far we have threats of physical violence unless the Lost Bag of Goldfish be returned, and people "getting locked out of my own house" because the door was locked and they didn't think to knock.

Watched the two dogs go on an extended hour-long Easter egg hunt in the back yard. There were no Easter eggs. Dog number 1 lost interest at that point. Dog number 2 found some ants, which were even more interesting than Easter eggs. Then she watched a genuine Easter bunny eating some grass, which was even more exciting than ants.
Now she's collapsed on the sofa, as have I.

Secrets and riddles surround the Lost Bag of Goldfish, and facts have become speculation as events recede to memory. Some say the Bag was last seen in the Durango, after its discovery at the Stop & Shop. But the old timers still maintain that there never was a Bag of Goldfish—a bauble chased by desperate fools and oh hell yes the Highwayman arrived!
