It's a Viper.
0-60 in a hair over three seconds. Top end, over 200mph. Local guy who owned the Dodge dealership almost killed himself in one. Way too much car for him, too.

I had occasion to drive one of the new Corvettes a few years ago (I think it was the C7 model). Though there was no question that it was a powerful, powerful, machine, I never got the feeling that it would bite my head off and kill me. Granted, I didn't push it too hard, but it felt very controllable.
I had a similar experience when I drove a friend's Maserati. I don't remember which model it was (had 4 doors), but besides the Italian "let me make love to you baby" feel, you could tell there was a lot of power there, should you need it.
