Try Minnesota. It’s what I did.

Of course you could do the US Virgin Islands, maybe Ireland. Anywhere!

I’m looking for places without extradition treaties. Looking for a friend.

      Education is extremely important.

Me? If language wasn’t an issue I would move to Finland.

But in the English speaking world, I think some rural Vermont or alternatively some rural New Zealand would be a fine place to seek peaceful days and nights.

Yes I would like to live in a place like in the old Newhart show where he owned a bed and breakfast. Also a different country or Hawaii are options.

You want to live in Minnesoooooota. 89th is loving it here. Don't live in the metro area though, go for a smaller city. You'll have the amenities, lower cost of living, and a quieter setting overall. If you want to spend time in the Twin Cities, it's not a long drive.

Another reason to live in Minnesoooooota is easy access to Mayo. Your hand and leg will thank you. 😊 okay, your whole body will appreciate having great care close by. Let's hope you don't need it, but your track record indicates the possibility of future medical needs.

Locals here get access to Mayo before people from outside the area. 👍

And you like big dogs, so it would be easy to have the dogsled you will need to get around in Minnesooota.

If you like really cold weather, and being dragged around by dogs, maybe think about Siberia?

              It's currently very affordable.

Pittsburgh doesn’t have Mayo, but it does have Heinz Ketchup… And it’s cheap as hell to live there and is consistently ranked as on of tge US’s most livable cities https://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2021/06/09/pittsburgh-number-3-most-livable-city-in-u-s/

I was looking up Texas property taxes, which differ locally, due to counties and mostly school districts. Do you guys think it's possible to get a place with low school district taxes but in a good neighborhood? Or are good school districts and good neighborhoods identical?

I've been told that it keeps taxes a bit lower if you live in a small town where a very large sporting team are based.

The downside is it tends to attract football fans, and occasionally even football players.

Of course, it might be hard to find any decent sporting teams if you locate to Texas.

Probably a good correlation between housing prices and school quality, especially as you take note that "good schools" is just a euphemism for "collections of good students".

Here (the county with the highest property taxes in the US), there is also variation based on whether there are companies in the town that pay substantial taxes. Armonk, for example, is where IBM is headquartered. They have good schools and relatively low taxes for the county.

                      Only non-witches get due process.

                        @Doctor-Phibes

Other options are either Idaho or south western Montana. Crisp winters, plenty of hills, pristine nature and very little in the way of the ever burdensome pop culture pollution.

                        Elbows up!
