Investigators believe they know who he is, having identified the suspect after finding a credit card at the scene that was also used to rent the U-Haul cargo van, two law enforcement sources told CNN.
A federal law enforcement source told Newsweek the suspect was the previously known to the FBI, having been entered into the Guardian Lead system in New Mexico.
The system is the FBI's way of coordinating information from other law enforcement partners about potential terrorism-related threats and suspicious activity reports.
He was cleared after multiple interviews in 2019.

This from CNN's story...
Many of the videos that James uploaded included references to violence, including at a set group of people he believed had maligned him, in addition to broad societal and racial groups that he appeared to hate.
They chose not to specify the broad societal and racial targets of this hatred, so I guess they don't fit political narratives. Well, in fairness, there is no politically useful narrative that starts with a POC hating anybody for any reason.
Education is extremely important.

In one of CNN’s stories, they describe this guy as hating African Americans, based on his social media. I suspected that characterization was not aligned with any reality, but only a desperate attempt to connect to a narrative.
