    https://www.courttv.com/news/arbitrator-clears-officers-who-pushed-buffalo-protester/

    This is fucking bullshit.

“Upon review, there is no evidence to sustain any claim that Respondents (police officers) had any other viable options other than to move Gugino out of the way of their forward movement.”

There are what, about 50 cops there? And this was them getting to where they needed to be—they weren't in the midst of fucking gangland.

How hard would it have been—and what would it have cost in terms of time and effort—to first try to move a 70-year-old man out of the way in a way that didn't cause brain damage and a fractured skull? I'm serious, someone explain that to me.

    Please love yourself.

      Surely a union-chosen arbitrator.

      Only non-witches get due process.

I like how this is completely fine but how dare anyone shoot at Capitol invaders. They were part of a peaceful, silly event whereas this 70-year-old is clearly some kind of terrorist.

        Please love yourself.

          To trigger @Aqua-Letifer , I re-watched the video.

The police are clearing the square (there are plenty of protestors behind the old man after the camera pans that way) so it's a little weird when a man approaches the police while carrying a riot helmet and camera. Police can probably tell the person is over the age of 55 but it's not clear he's in his 70s or has any issues walking, nor would it be expected after the very standard "two handed baton push" that the old man would fall back so hard that he would start bleeding immediately.

In other words, yeah this totally sucks but I don't see any unreasonable movements by the police that would even sniff at a crime or wrongdoing.

Probably best not to approach a riot squad of cops and stop them as they're actively moving in the other direction clearing the road. Also even more reason to avoid it if you're 75 years old and falls are one of life's biggest risks at that point.

Again, it sucks, but I don't see any malicious wrongdoing.

I never mentioned any malicious wrongdoing. I'm calling bullshit on "having no other viable options." You're honestly going to tell me there's literally nothing else they could have tried first?

            Please love yourself.

@Aqua-Letifer Oh fair enough, yeah that statement seems a bit out of place (and also totally incorrect). He later had this statement, which would've been sufficient IMO:

“The use of force employed by Respondents reflected no intent on their part to do more than to move Gugino away from them,” he wrote.

Even accepting such a flimsy-ass premise, what the fuck does that matter? Intent clears you of everything now? When did that happen?

                Please love yourself.

<Kim Potter has entered the chat>

Intent doesn't seem to matter, that is true. Imagine the result had Gugino had darker skin...
