The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Well ok, but the message wasn't exaggerated, so it didn't sniff of satire. It was slightly surprising since Elon isn't a tribal conservative, but he's not woke enough to pass muster with pop culturalites in silicon valley. And it was only one person, so totally believable. Though the profile pick didn't look like a gay man, that is true enough. Neither does Dave Rubin, one of the rubes who fell for it.

      Education is extremely important.

See? How does Elon know about that tweet? I'm sure he's tagged a million times a day by users. Does he just sit and watch his phone all day? I DONT GET TWITTER. It's a fad.

It's not what boomers on here say it is. This place is far more toxic, if you can believe it. Oh, and I never see anything political in my feed. Literally never. It's all in how you use it.

                Please love yourself.

“Less regulated speech”. Clever. In this eternal game of avoiding the tribal giggles, it is no longer advisable to say “free speech”, unless you’re a leftist giggling at those who advocate for it.

It’s great how in Jack’s tiny blurb about this, his only public reaction, he managed to pack in the notion that emotional thinking is way better than rational thinking. Lead with their hearts indeed. Gotta keep the woke mobs at bay, that is priority one for companies in the business of serving pop culture.

@Horace They "lead with their hearts" which is basically an excuse for upcoming battles. Also, I would argue Musk leads with his brain and the world is better off for it.

I've only recently actually subscribed to Twitter, and you're right. It's funny, I never see any of the awful stuff people re-post here. It seems like a lot of people go looking for terrible things that people of the opposite political persuasion say on Twitter, and then complain about them saying it. Then they presumably complain about people getting offended too easily.

I still think the whole Twitter concept is a bit dreadful, and caters to narcissism, but it's still worth a look.

It's not about complaining about it. That would be like saying the left complains about George Floyd type situations. They live for that stuff. It fuels the meaning of their lives, makes them feel more secure in their place in an eternal struggle of good versus evil.

As for twitter stuff, that's for giggling at the other tribe to let off steam between George Floyd style culture war engagements, where we all meet on the battlefield of whatever watercoolers we're forced to congregate around, and sort one another out as a good guy or a bad guy.

I think my point is there's a lot more to look at than culture wars and politics. The only place I talk about any of that is here.

                                  What drives the eyeballs, though?

I suspect no Trump on twitter was a measurable event. Just look at this place...Type the word Trump and see what happens. Some of our denizens crawl out of the woodwork, carrying their torch...
