The best propaganda takes stuff that is true, and uses it to imply stuff that is false.

And then you get a bunch of people talking about the stuff that's true, and it sounds like they're going along with the stuff that's false.

What Tucker's doing is dumb at best.

Just dumb? Playing right into the Kremlin’s playbook. Carlson’s a stooge.

Gabbard should just know better than to get sucked into Carlson’s agenda.

Mr. Carlson is an American hero.

I'm sure we all applaud his courage in the face of relentless, mindless criticism.

Funny. That was exactly the song that came to mind.

Tucker and I have something in common - we share a disdain for his audience.

I choose open minded understanding and compassion for those raised in different times, surrounded by different mainstream ideas. This path of virtue is not the easy one, but it is the right one.

Can't speak to Tucker Carlson as I have a sneezing fit from all the hairspray every time I see him. I'm just saying that there is nothing inappropriate with Gabbard's statements. Those facilities do need to be secured and the pathogens destroyed, especially if Putin's doing some kind of weird wink and a nod with it.

"Conspiracy theorist" accusations are boilerplate lefty handbook stuff. We've all been acculturated to giggle at conspiracy theorists, long before our current left vs right divisions became so polarizing. the left has just used the opportunity to mine the giggles from that pre-conceived notion of how ridiculous conspiracy theorists are. Have to hand it to the left, they were ahead of the game recognizing the power of the tribal giggle.

Apologies for stating the obvious, but Mitt Romney isn't on the left, and Tulsi Gabbard isn't exactly a conservative.

In the context of this conversation, Romney was using the "conspiracy theorist" meme for its political effect, to marginalize a political opponent. It's part of the lefty playbook, but that does not mean its use is relegated to registered Democrats. I'm always eager to point out the conspiracy theorists on the left, for instance. Most obviously the race narrative, which is the largest and most powerful conspiracy theory on the planet. And I am not a registered Democrat.

Also, it's used by people to point out actual conspiracy theorists such as Tucker Carlson (or Glenn Beck if you prefer) as well as the race-obsessed such as NPR.

Yes but not everybody is motivated to see anecdotal evidence on both sides and then stop thinking, with a declaration that both sides are equally stupid. Accusations of being a conspiracy theorist was minted for its political value by the left, and relatively recently. But hey, good ideas get stolen.

So many times Mr. Trump has been misunderstood because he was so far ahead of the average man.

But, sooner or later everyone comes around to his way of thinking.

Mr. Carlson clearly has this same superior insight and foresight.

                                    Tulsi's evidence confirms this.

I wonder if there is some gypsy in his family tree.

Accusations of being a conspiracy theorist was minted for its political descriptive value by the left, and relatively recently.

‘Recently’ in comparison to the age of the republic? The Birchers were very much conspiracy-driven, as was pointed out in the 50s and 60s by Buckley himself, as he banished their crazy asses to bingo halls.

More recently Trump came to political prominence by pushing a conspiracy theory. (as opposed to cultural prominence, which predated the political by decades)
