Yeah, those who don't have an understanding of some detail about a situation shouldn't comment or have a strong opinion. It's not a difficult concept, but one that is violated relentlessly by the rest of the world when it comes to opinions about America. I was commenting on that irony.

It's the story of the moment and they gotta fill airtime. Same thing as Trump fixation...If it draws eyeballs, the media is going to pound it. Whether their story is true or just conjecture.

The article is about how the West in general has not listened to the voices of East Europeans and the Baltic’s who for some years now were warning us of this impending storm.

Nobody ever claimed it was all about America. In fact in my description of what it was about, I used general terms. I got specific by pointing out a specific irony.

That was the point of the article and it is not limited to media. Academics and so called experts also share in culpability for this failure. Personally I believe it boils down to intellectual laziness.
