Ok... so i looked up the definition.

What is a lame duck situation?
A lame duck situation generally refers to a time frame between a decision and its implementation. It may also refer to: Lame duck (politics), an elected official who is approaching the end of his or her tenure, and especially an official whose successor has already been elected.

You're correct. I misused "lame duck".

I should have said inconsequential impotent president.

We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there's still time to change the road you're on.

If he announced he wasn't running again, he would be considered a lame duck.

        How about just "lame"?

If it limps its way through speeches like a lame duck and hobbles its way through massive inflation like a lame duck, it's probably a lame duck.

It wasn't worth getting in a pissing match over it. She knew my intent. She was just splitting hairs.

"Inconsequential impotent president" sounds better to me anyway.

                I'll leave it at that.

With the election of folks like these 2 bimbos, AOC, and others... it very much reminds me that we have free elections where we vote citizens to help run the country. For better or worse... it is a reminder.

OK, I've watched about 10 minutes of this.

It's no different than other SOTUs, but it reminds me of the so-called "pep rallies" that I had to endure in high school.

Lots of rooting for our team, lots of nice, encouraging and rallying words, but...basically empty words.

The only difference seems to be which side of the building stands up and applauds.

                                      Restore the written report, FTW!

I think George captured it correctly. Did anybody really think that anythign important would be said? For every president since I have been paying attention, they are the same. YOu talk about what you think it good, your side cheers, the other side complains about the things you didnt talk about.

When it switches over to the other side, the situation repeats.
