Speaking of defunding, back in 2016 the big push from a certain Presidential candidate was to defund Ukraine. * Republican delegates at last week’s national security committee platform meeting in Cleveland were surprised when the Trump campaign orchestrated a set of events to make sure that the GOP would not pledge to give Ukraine the weapons it has been asking for from the United States.*

Well his campaign manager worked for Russian interests in Ukraine. Got pretty rich off of them, in fact.

Defund NATO, defund Ukraine &c was all part of MAGA, as well as the need to investigate corruption.

None of that meant "Let Russia invade a sovereign country".

Your attempted whataboutism doesn't work here -- the Dems main message was "Defund the Police" "Open the Borders" etc without any regard for the security of the US -- which is their only obligation.

Wall Street now believes Biden is an inconsequential lame duck president. His wishful shopping list with no solutions and his failure to pivot has doomed his presidency.

We are now in the 2022 election cycle. Nothing will get done between now and November. When republicans retake both houses of Congress, nothing he wants to get done will occur.

Personally, I think if he, as he has said, runs for a second term, someone will step up and take the nomination away from him, cementing his dismal history.

Mr. Biden... redecorate your Delaware basement. You'll be spending a lot of time there in the not too distant future.

We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.

Ok... so i looked up the definition.

What is a lame duck situation?
A lame duck situation generally refers to a time frame between a decision and its implementation. It may also refer to: Lame duck (politics), an elected official who is approaching the end of his or her tenure, and especially an official whose successor has already been elected.

You're correct. I misused "lame duck".

I should have said inconsequential impotent president.

We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there's still time to change the road you're on.

If he announced he wasn't running again, he would be considered a lame duck.

If it limps its way through speeches like a lame duck and hobbles its way through massive inflation like a lame duck, it's probably a lame duck.

                                          How about just "lame"?

It wasn't worth getting in a pissing match over it. She knew my intent. She was just splitting hairs.

"Inconsequential impotent president" sounds better to me anyway.

                                          I'll leave it at that.

We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there's still time to change the road you're on.
