But, what is unforgivable, is to visit the hospital where the victims are still hospitalized, and not to even mention it.
To be fair, it was talked about a fair bit in the speech immediately prior to hers.
Clearly, she should have talked about it, too.

Give me an example of Melania making a political speech after a tragedy
Jill Biden's speech wasn't political as far as I could tell. What was political about it?
Encouraging people to get vaccinated isn't political, is it?

I would say making that trip and speech be about vaccination rather than the the attack was overtly political.

Let me rephrase that for you.
Giving a speech in favor of vaccinations of kids is not (or shouldn't be) political.
Going to the hospital where children are hospitalized because of a political/terrorist attack and ignoring said attack is blatantly political.
Agreed?

Yes, because of what was not said.
The Whitehouse knows that a speaker before FLOTUS ain't making the nightly news. FLOTUS will. The vaccine rah-rah is all fine and well, but Jesus Christ on a hobby-horse, couldn't she take at least 60 seconds to express her sympathy to the people of Waukesha for the heinous act which took place in their town and wish those children still in the hospital where she spoke a heartfelt "get well, soon"?

"How do you plead?"
"Not guilty"
Darrell Brooks Jr. on Friday pleaded not guilty to 77 charges, including six homicide counts, tied to the Waukesha Christmas Parade tragedy, but what exactly his defense team has in mind became clearer one day earlier.
In separate motions Thursday, defense attorney Jeremy Perri filed two key requests on behalf of the 39-year-old Milwaukee man, including a change of venue request that was not immediately discussed.
On Friday, the charges were formally presented in Waukesha County Circuit Court during Brooks' arraignment hearing, in which Perri requested an additional court date in front of a different judge — another twist in the nearly 3-month-old case.
Friday's hearing was short, lasting less than three minutes. Brooks waived a reading of the charges and Perri entered not guilty pleas on his behalf. None of the victims expressed an interest to speak during the arraignment before Court Commissioner Kevin Costello.
Brooks' attorneys have requested his trial be held in another county or before a jury drawn from another county. In either circumstance, they ask that the jury be sequestered during trial, a rare and expensive precaution.
The defense also exercised its right to substitute the original judge, and the case has been reassigned from Judge Michael Bohren to Chief Judge Jennifer Dorow.
In their request, Brooks' attorneys cited not only the widespread media coverage of the parade tragedy, but also the overwhelming community support of victims, expressed in millions of dollars of donations, dozens of vigils and even a visit to Waukesha to support victims by first lady Jill Biden.
The attorneys noted Waukesha County schools were closed for two days after the parade, and that more than 500 students received counseling when they reopened.
The motion also points out how "ubiquitous" the Waukesha Strong slogan and broken heart symbol have become in the county, in storefronts and front yards, as well as on social media. Ten thousand blue lightbulbs were distributed for free as another way for residents to show support for victims.

It was the SUV…

Biden will travel to Buffalo on Tuesday
Presumably, it doesn't take as many assets as a trip to suburban Milwaukee.

Jesus fuck save us the time and say “they’re the wrong race”.

Below is satire, but funny in an irony way
ISLA VISTA, CA—In the days following a violent rampage in southern California in which a lone attacker killed seven individuals, including himself, and seriously injured over a dozen others, citizens living in the only country where this kind of mass killing routinely occurs reportedly concluded Tuesday that there was no way to prevent the massacre from taking place. “This was a terrible tragedy, but sometimes these things just happen and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop them,” said North Carolina resident Samuel Wipper, echoing sentiments expressed by tens of millions of individuals who reside in a nation where over half of the world’s deadliest mass shootings have occurred in the past 50 years and whose citizens are 20 times more likely to die of gun violence than those of other developed nations. “It’s a shame, but what can we do? There really wasn’t anything that was going to keep this guy from snapping and killing a lot of people if that’s what he really wanted.” At press time, residents of the only economically advanced nation in the world where roughly two mass shootings have occurred every month for the past five years were referring to themselves and their situation as “helpless.”

Oh, it's not helpless. We've had the Second Amendment for over 200 years, where for most of that time you could own and keep a cannon in your backyard, if you wanted to.
Mass shootings are a relatively recent phenomenon.
Ask yourself, What has changed?
I've said it before, it's the media attention you get. Once the media stops posting the shooter's face, name, and manifesto... the number of these shootings will decrease. But the corporate press desks absolutely salivate over the ratings a shooting brings in. No one will admit it, or even realize it, but they love it.

Couple of things:
- Not everyone who shoots up a local area is doing it for the media publicity. Crazy comes in many, many different kinds.
- Sure the media companies admit it. All the time. Ask any journalist who covers these stories. What they'll say is that publishing a suspect's personal information and doing a story on them serves the public interest so no way are they not going to.
Otherwise, yeah, that's basically the gist.

The vast majority of “mass shootings” aren’t cases of gunmen walking into a school or grocery store and opening up fire on a bunch of strangers. Most mass shootings recorded in the US are gang related. You take out the gang bangers and you’ll find our numbers to be pretty comparable with most countries and lower than some.
