Speaking for women everywhere, I am so. glad. y'all are finding this so. goddamn. amusing.
But to answer Ax's question, I have always felt that menstruation was a poorly designed solution. Why couldn't the whole mess be designed to be internally reabsorbed? No muss, no fuss, no PMS.
Knees, too. Why must they be so fragile? Bang a knee on a car door and the pain is immense, if short-lived.
Fragility in knees obviously doesn't spare football players.

Rabbbit actually have the "on demand" or "event driven" fertility system that Ax thinks is a better idea. They neither menstruate nor go into estrus.

Why is menstruation cyclical? Why must a female’s ability to conceive be “cyclical” rather than, say, “event driven” or “on demand”?
If you were to design the reproductive system from scratch, is making the female reproductive system operating “cyclically” really an intelligent design choice?

It really is a better system given the nature of human infant development which takes much longer for independence and generative faculties to develop. The fertility and generational time frames, as well as life spans and other physical and relational traits are why the humans have been able to do so much in shaping and optimizing our living environment and distributing around the global, unlike any other animal or life form.
I suspect if humans had a different reproductive cycle we wouldn't be having this conversation. We'd be eating grubs.
