    Just got my tax assessment. 25% increase over two years... We gotta pay those reparations somehow...

          That is silly, if only from the pragmatic perspective of tracing people "hurt by past injustices". There were like 25,000 people who lived in the county back when those policies were in place, compared to the 450,000 people who live there now. Nearly every person of color in LoCo now does not have direct ties to those who were discriminated against.

            A lot of them probably have ancestors who did the discriminating.

            Wait until they find out that they are getting an invoice, not a check.
