Trump paved the way here.
Perhaps you're unaware of LBJ, who made Trump look like a courtier at Versailles?
Are you aware of Diogenes? How far would you want to walk this back? Do we really have to play a game as tired as "which party started mudslinging"?
Part of the Biden brand is (and no I'm not defending this), "we have the backbone to stand up to Trump's prejudices and douchebaggery," not LBJ's or Diogenes'. Biden's rhetoric has very much to do with the administration's positioning against the previous president and his brand of politics.

Part of the Biden brand is...
And the biggest part of his brand is "I'm not Trump." That's how he got elected, while hiding out in his basement.
Guess what?
He is, and he proved that with that comment.

Trump paved the way here.
In the last 20 years, perhaps he did.
But Biden's better because he "won't go there," right?
Uh, no. I'm getting more pissed off at crazy Grandpa Joe every day.
Yeah, the new civility, indeed.
Well, like I said about Trump. We need a Mandela, not a Twitter troll.

Errmmm... so publicly calling someone "a stupid son-of-a-bitch" shows backbone and sets the example against douchebaggery?
What again is your point?

Yes, in the minds of today's liberals, it absolutely does. Joe don't take no patriarchal misogynist shit from nobody.
and sets the example against douchebaggery?
Yes because they're on the right side of history, so, whatever they do is fine.
What again is your point?
It seems my point is that you're not paying much attention to what liberals currently think.

Basically.
Side note: I'm on Twitter every day. My feed is like a bizarro version of this kinda shit, I'm amazed this is happening on the same platform.

Remind me where Diogenes falls in the list of Presidents?

You couldn't pay me to be on Twitter everyday.
Well, maybe. But we're talking good money....

You know, President Bidenhas an opportunity here to pivot. A well intentioned apology and a more open approach to his political adversaries could turn this Presidency around.

You chaps keep electing 'em. You've only got yourselves to blame.
You need a bit of the BoJo gravitas. He insults people in ancient Greek, just like Diogenes.

Yes, a necklace is much more persuasive than an impolite twitter post.

You know damn well Diogenes would act as a better statesman. And that includes the inevitable masturbation on Downing Street.

It's almost funny if it weren't so sad - Biden calls a reporter a son of a bitch, and it's Trumps fault.... "Trump did it first! Trump did it first!"
Give me a fucking break.
How soon some forget that Trump was - in every instance - REACTING to something said or done by one of his detractors. Far too many people only dig back far enough to smear mud on the one they want smeared.
Joe Biden has been a nasty piece of shit for his entire career. Yet not a single person who dislikes Trump will take the time to go back and examine the shit that came out of his mouth long before Donald Trump got in the way of our (both) political parties as the lined their pockets with money from China and left a long and full record of insults and crude, vulgar personal attacks. Nope... it all Trumps fault.
Damn.

“Nothing Personal, Pal…”
Wow. What an apology! This will go down as the moment when the National conversation changed!
