Kinda funny watching him say "I'm kind of short of breath up here and I'm freezing my ass off."

What did you think was going to happen?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

      Thanks but no thanks.

Didn't you watch the start? He brought his snowboarding pants and hat.

Honestly that would be really fun to do... if I knew 100% it would be safe. A couple other observations:

          • Bring gloves next time, man! [edit, nevermind I see he had some]
          • Couldn't turn off the passcode on the iPhone before the flight?
          • Took 30 min to get to 10k but another 30 min to get to 15k
          • The view seems the same once you get above 5k feet or so...

            Thinner air = less lift.

@george-k I figured as much... would cut down the length of the trip (and fuel) big time to just enjoy the 10k height

Federal Aviation Regulations Part 91.211: altitudes above 14,000 feet pilots must use oxygen at all times

                Lock him up.

Is that legal? Is there no danger of interference with passenger airplanes and the like?

Where he is, is probably legal.

Class A airspace starts above 18,000 feet. There are several Class A requirements that he probably does not meet.

There are several types of airspace around major airports, military bases, presidents (current and former), stadiums and other places where he might be illegal.

But in general, the sky, in this country, is available for use, enjoy it.

In Europe, the cost and restrictions are very, very much higher.

Over here, it's not even allowed to let a simple children's kite raise higher than 100m.

Sometimes I'm surprised we are allowed to breathe without filling out a permission form.
