Not just Soviet sources. Besides, if it were otherwise, I am confident that the whole story would have been exposed in all its sordid details thirty years or more ago.

In my mind, these type of stories start to move into "conspiracy" type of stories.
For example, somehow, all the judges got together and decided to treat these prisoners differently they do other prisoners. They did it just because!!!
There is this secret group chat between federal judges who ignore what happened and similar cases and the facts about each individual case and just act arbitrary.
The judge in this case talked about above was appointed by guess who????? President Trump!!!!!! Is this possible? Didn't President Trump say he would appoint judges who apply the law correctly???????
