I finished off my wife’s china set that she’s been putting together since we got married (no chargers, though, I absolutely refuse to buy plates that go under our plates) and got her a gift card to take care of the souvenirs that she will want to buy on our vacation this year. Karla always talks herself out of getting what she wants because it’s too expensive. So I preemptively removed her excuses.

Son number 1 got cash… I can’t buy him clothes anymore or even electronics. I don’t know what he needs or wants. So… “Here’s the cash, we’re going to go spend it on Tuesday…”

Son number 2 got lots of great stuff that all took a back seat to a frigging $3.00 bubble gun I bought in the checkout line at the grocery store yesterday.

For my bride, a new Fitbit (Luxe), and a couple of pillows from the Ritz Carlton.
The kids all got little stuff they asked for and each also got a gift card for Amazon.

I gave my wife an old favorite:

              Got MFR a vacuum.

No, really. It was what she wanted. A cordless vac to do stairs and the prep area in the kitchen where the floor always gets bombarded with stuff.

Plus a bunch of other stuff she wanted.

Got the kid a bunch of stuff plus a sizeable check. Where she is in her masters program she can't work as much.

We have a rechargeable Dustbuster. Had it for about 6 years. It's very serviceable, but I'll keep this in mind when my Dustbuster dies.

I don’t know which would be worse, if Karla and I both had it at the same time or if we had it separately.

We also got that. Very handy to have after the kids and a crumbly meal. Reminded me of the dustbuster my family had growing up.

Agree that a Dyson works very well, though I often wish the trigger is less sensitive.
