Haha great thread title
I don’t get it.
- Chris Cuomo has been called "Fredo."
- The Godfather II.

"“Fredo” is a prominent character in several of The Godfather movies. He’s the older brother of Michael Corleone, the intelligent, charismatic, and ruthless Italian-American mob leader. Unable to stomach his relative lack of charm, brains, and personal accomplishment, Fredo ultimately betrays his brother, hastening his own death; as such, the term “Fredo” has become a cultural short-hand for “incompetent, cowardly, large adult son.” Perhaps unsurprisingly, Donald Trump, Jr. has been on the receiving end of this aspersion himself. (As the brother and son and men who have governed the state of New York — Andrew and Mario Cuomo, respectively — Chris Cuomo is arguably similarly cast in the shadow of his family, despite a thriving TV yelling career of his own.)
Cuomo himself may have put it most succinctly when he said, very irately, in the video: “Fredo is from The Godfather. He was the weak brother.”

CNN said Saturday that anchor Chris Cuomo has been "terminated" by the network, "effective immediately."
The announcement came after an outside law firm was retained to review information about exactly how Cuomo aided his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, when the then-governor was accused of sexual harassment.
CNN said in a statement: "Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother's defense. We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately."
"While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light," CNN's statement added. "Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate." -

Don’t forget his basement/covid segments…
And the unvaxxed, unmasked bike rides.
Risk with that runs the gamut, depending on where you go and what you do.
On Aniki (singlespeed), I'm on roads with no pedestrian traffic. And I'm going 15-20 mph the whole time. So the chances of getting infected are almost zero.
On Brad (eBike), it's a lot higher, because I use it to go into shopping centers to pick up curbside orders. I try to park at the entrance, get a mask out, and put it on before I get there. Might keep me safe, might keep the curbside workers safe, and it's a solidarity thing with them, who are mandated to wear one by their employer.
On Rodriguez (cyclocross bike), I'm riding through the woods. The chances are zero. But if I'm racing, I'd put chances about the same as an outside bonfire.

So, when are they going to fire Don Lemon?

Despite the decisiveness of CNN’s actions following last week’s revelations, there are hints that the fireworks may only just be getting started. On Monday afternoon, the New York Post reported that Cuomo was “preparing to file [a] lawsuit”—reportedly to the tune of at least $18 million—“over the remainder of the four-year contract he signed last year.” Sources on both sides told me they were caught off guard by the Post item, but Puck’s Matthew Belloni later reported that Cuomo had lawyered up with Bryan Freedman, who helped handle Megyn Kelly’s NBC exit, and that CNN was working with Daniel Petrocelli, who successfully battled the Trump administration when it attempted to scuttle a merger between AT&T and CNN’s parent company. Zucker reportedly told staff Tuesday that Cuomo did not receive severance.
The situation has quickly become acrimonious. Exhibit A: dueling statements from CNN’s reps and Cuomo’s personal spokesman, who said that Zucker and his client were “widely known to be extremely close and in regular contact, including about the details of Mr. Cuomo’s support for his brother. There were no secrets about this, as other individuals besides Mr. Cuomo can attest.” CNN hit back with a stern response: “We are disappointed with Chris’s statement. He has made a number of accusations that are patently false. This reinforces why he was terminated for violating our standards and practices, as well as his lack of candor.”
What to make of the daylight between these two accounts? One person familiar with Zucker and Cuomo’s conversations in recent months said, “Chris believes he was transparent about what he was doing and what Jeff needed to know.” But another source familiar with their talks said that Cuomo never apprised Zucker of the most damaging details. Those details include Cuomo pursuing a tip to potentially discredit one of his brother’s accusers, attempting to gather intel on planned stories by Politico and The New Yorker’s Ronan Farrow, and taking direction from Andrew Cuomo’s top lieutenant, Melissa DeRosa, whose text messages with Cuomo helped seal his fate. “The most damning stuff was from Melissa’s texts,” the source said.
