Masks again

I just went to the supermarket

The sign at the front door says "Masks Required" in big letters, then in tiny letters it says "if not vaccinated".

I didn't bother to get the mask from my car. I'd say about 4 out of 5 were wearing a mask.

I don't go to the supermarket very often and wasn't expecting masks. Nobody wears a mask at the golf course.

We tried to go to our favorite golf course restaurant for lunch. Sadly there was a golf outing and it was PACKED.

@Copper aren't you vaccinated though? Nearly every shop I go to has some sort of mask requirement (or recommendation) if not vaccinated. But honestly their signs haven't changed from the start (except maybe in May when it shifted to only those who aren't vaccinated).

I don't remember seeing that many masks at the supermarket. I think it might be a few weeks since I had been there. I expected to see maybe 1 in 5 with a mask. Maybe it was a fluke.

I see, yeah I would say I've seen an increase from about 10% back in July to around 60% now whenever I'm out in a store. I wear one out of respect for the store/employees, my FIL who is vaccinated but high risk, and my 2 kids who are to young to get the shot. Oh and my wife wants me to, and I decide which battles I fight.

I was on Nantucket for a wedding a few weeks ago.

The mask rules were much tougher than here in VA. They were required in just about all public places. I was told they were tougher than the rest of the state.

Of course nobody wore a mask at the wedding or the reception.

Here it’s still pretty much everyone in stores.

In the summer it relaxed just a tad - down to 80% masked maybe- then when delta came it went back up.

Oddly the gym is virtually massless. I’m either the only one when I go, or one of two.
