When I look at the digital, it looks like it is halfway between 6 and 7 as 649 is halfway between…

A long time ago we had a brief discussion about not teaching kids how to read an analog clock.
Someone, @Axtremus ? commented that digital is easier to understand, and it should become the de facto standard for telling time.
I get it.
So...
My Apple watch has the ability to display hundreds of faces - analog, digital, whatever. You can add "complications" - basically add ons to each face that'll tell you temperature, text messages, whatever.
I recently switched from a traditional "analog" looking face to a digital face.
Somehow, I find the digital just a bit awkward. I'm so used to looking at a clock and without thinking about it, know the time. With a digital face, I have to actually think about it.
I suppose it's a matter of habit, experience, etc.

Analog clocks offer more reliability in time than their fellow digital. There are analogue clocks near 300 years old which are still ticking. Digital clocks haven't been around long enough to demonstrate similar reliability. (like the covid vaccines)

Actually an armillary
The single red cobblestone (top/left) is aligned with the North star so I can align the armillary.

I can't get the sun to stop long enough to measure.
Actually it is fairly accurate, give or take 5 or 10 minutes.

Interesting you have the "dial" on the lower left, instead of upper right. I think Santa is getting me an Apple Watch this year, so I have to start paying attention.
Also, aside from "relative to the 12 hour period" digital is faster for me. With analog, you have to look at it and then decide what the numbers are, vs just reading the numbers.

Of course, every mechanical watch I've had since I was a kid had the crown on the right hand side (assuming I wore the watch on my left wrist). In the days when you'd pull the crown out a bit to set the watch, it made a lot of sense, because you'd use your right index finger and thumb to do it.
But, with the Apple watch, the crown doesn't pull out - it's strictly a button that you push in or turn. For me, it's easier to do that with my right thumb, and less awkward than using my index finger.
