President Joe Biden will temporarily hand over his presidential powers to Vice President Kamala Harris today as he undergoes a colonoscopy.

"This morning, the President will travel to Walter Reed Medical Center for a routine physical. While he is there, the President will undergo a routine colonoscopy," White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki released in a statement Friday morning. "As was the case when President George W. Bush had the same procedure in 2002 and 2007, and following the process set out in the Constitution, President Biden will transfer power to the Vice President for the brief period of time when he is under anesthesia. The Vice President will work from her office in the West Wing during this time."

"Later this afternoon, the White House will publicly release a written summary of the President’s physical," she continued.

In addition to the colonoscopy, Biden will also undergo a physical Friday. Despite Biden being in office for ten months, the White House physician has not briefed the press or answered questions about his overall health and physical condition.

Yes, but apparently it didn't happen with Trump. Supposedly he wasn't sedated.

Shame it's Biden riding the black snake. Kamala has more experience...

OK, I'm just picking nits here...

When I took care of outpatients, I always told them, "OK, today, don't make any important decisions. Don't get married. Don't get divorced, and don't buy a house."

We wouldn't let our patients drive themselves home after anesthesia.

That said, I understand that after colonoscopies (with propofol as sedation), some countries let their victims patients drive home.

                Well, OK, then....

                Fit for duty

The White House released Joe Biden's health summary Friday — describing an active president who is "fit for duty" — hours after presidential power was temporarily transferred to Kamala Harris while Biden underwent a colonoscopy under anesthesia.

The vice president worked from her West Wing office at the White House while the president underwent the procedure during his annual physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, press secretary Jen Psaki said.

So, was POTUS working after riding the black snake?

If so, why can he do this and I can't drive a car?

Thinking on it, this is a legitimate question.

Before any sedation or general anesthesia, I always told my patients:

"Today, don't drive a car or make any important decisions: don't get married or divorced, buy a house or a car."

When I rode the black snake several weeks ago, I was told the same thing by the staff.

So, was he legally competent after his colonoscopy?
