Someone to whom all issues boil down to race. The ideology behind leftist politics is in fact "race essentialism". Leftist individuals have more or less awareness of this fact, but the person being described in the piece as a race essentialist, Chauncey Devega, is an avowed race essentialist, as a quick google of his name will show.
