      Set the clocks to standard time and leave them that way.

      Exactly, at least up here where there is no need to extend daylight hours from April through to the end of October. There are plenty of daylight hours on Standard Time.

      In fact Albertans just voted down having year round DST. The provincial gov’t gave us a ballot choice of retaining turning our clocks twice a year or year round DST. No option to stay on Standard time - the disingenuous Tories unilaterally decided MST would be too inconvenient. Had the plebiscite proposal gone through many of us wouldn’t be seeing day light until 10:00 am from December until February.

      Elbows up!

        @optimistic lol

        I prefer the time change. Easy enough to adjust to, and makes somewhat better use of available daylight hours.

          I just get out of bed at sunrise.

          The time of day doesn't matter very much.

          Switch the clocks twice a year, or whatever keeps the school children safer.

              Normally wake up 6:30-7:00. Thanks to DST I was up at 5, lol. Still gave me time to get some stuff done…

              Unlike a lot of others, I don’t really mind it. I think it’s a horrible idea for kids to be standing at bus stops during the coldest months of the year while it’s still an hour before dawn. It’s a real

              I could have written that second paragraph. Not the first because I’m always up before 5, DST or no

                Hubby's brilliant idea:

                In the summer, instead of DST, have DOUBLE DST! For three or four months of summer, have a TWO hour spring ahead. Daylight until 10:30pm FTW!!!! Many businesses would love this. We would love to sit on our porch until late in the evening. Froggos visiting for hours!!!

                The alternative is to have Elon Musk make an artificial sun that lets us have sunlight from 5am to 10pm or even 11pm. He's wacky enough, why hasn't he thought of this?

                  Yes, lately it has been well before, now it will be closer, between 6 and 7, whatever.

                          Karla wakes me up, “It’s 6:00! Help me get ready! My alarm didn’t go off!” (She had an early doctor appointment that required her to take care of several animal visits at 6:30, so she needed to get up at 5:45).

                          She rushes into the shower, I get together her clothes and miscellaneous supplements and medicines she needs to take before leaves, then go to make the coffee. The coffee maker shows it’s 5:00AM. Somebody didn’t reset her alarm…

                          Another early day…
