What, no thread about the new Apple MB Pro?

Comparing the new M1 Pro/Max based 2021 MacBook Pro to my 2020 M1 based MacBook Air, I think I will stick to my existing MacBook Air. I much prefer the lighter weight of the MacBook Air, and the fact that it is fan-less. I still have my 15” MacBook Pro from 2012 and it still works quite well for many things except that it’s fans have been making noises whenever they spin. So the fact that the M1 MacBook Air has no fan means that I can keep it for longer without worrying about the fan getting noisier over time.
For things that I do on laptops, the M1 MacBook Air is fast enough. If I ever need lots of raw computing power, these days I figure I can just take out a decked out server from AWS or even NetCup and pay them for only the hours/days I actually use the server.

I love the additional ports.
What, no ethernet?
MagSafe is back.
Mrs. George's MacBook Air does MagSafe. It's wonderful, NO?
I gather it can charge via thunderbolt as well, albeit not as quickly.

Oh, another thing - the notch for a camera. I get that's a lot less obtrusive than a clip-on camera, but in the interest of smaller bezels, I think it was a bit of a design fail.

Everything I've read is that the M1 Macs (including the pro and max versions are remarkable in performance. Certainly suited to those who need that kind of capability.
But, this notch?
What the HELL were you thinking?

AirPods - don't use 'em. Not interested.
Not in the market at all for a computer. But AirPods (I have the pro version) was the best tech purchase I made in a long while
I love em. Noise cancel is great. Comfort is great. Sound is great. What’s not to like?

I use mine all the time, too. Cuts down considerably on road noise while on a bike.
