For SUV's the middle row needs a 2-seat option (gap in the center to get through. I think more and more of the 3-row SUVs are coming with this now.

    Car seats galore.

Well, how many are you going to need? 🙂

      Loved your 'roster' wording.

        I did too #roster

Since our roster is growing to 2 in November, we may be heading towards a minivan. The Odyssey seems like a good option! I also see the middle seats can slide together and apart, making access to the back seat (no jokes, Jon) easier.

Mik id agree about the video screens. Both from a “back in my day we had magnetic chess, and played the license plate ABC game” angle, but also I liked your point about an audio book. Heck if they need a video screen, iPads I’m sure would do fine.

The whole point is they need to learn to entertain themselves without screens in front of them and how to have a conversation.

3's been our target for a while. We've discussed, but never really seriously entertained the idea of 4. So - that'd be 3 car seats (they make the big kids sit in boosters for a while these days).

On the flip side - I'm upgrading from a golf, so anything is going to feel palatial.

Once in 1997 or 8 I had to put my car in the shop and the dealer gave me a brand new Hyundai to drive as a loaner. I went through a small puddle of water in the road and got my socks and the cuffs of my pants wet. I know they're better now than they were then, but I just can't bring myself to even think about buying one.

The Honda Odyssey's 2-seat option allows you to arrange it to either have a gap in the middle or have the gap to one side. For years, I have kept my middle row's two seats arranged to have a gap to the passenger's side. It's easier to get through from the side than it is to get through the middle.

An Odyssey will do fine. The interior design is quite thoughtful and versatile.

Exactly. There is no point "investing" in an entertainment video screen that is built into the vehicle. It will be outdated long before you need to upgrade the vehicle itself.

Thank God, George. A slightly different angle, and the outcome could have been worse.

That being said, my daughter has a 2015 Elantra, and it has been perfect i.e., not once in the shop for an issue, but they did have a factory recall on the airbags.

That is one awful picture, George. It's only worth viewing because your daughter was OK. Not sure if I'm expressing myself very well, but I have a daughter, so it hits home.

hmmm. If I am doing this correctly, on this forum I can simply copy and paste an image? But, there are both picture and image links above this text box, so wondering what the difference is.

BTW - off topic but if the pic works, I spent years on that car, blood sweat and tears so to speak, plus tons of money. That's my wife and my son, now grown up (son, that is).
Of course if I posted this wrong, you are probably wondering what the hell I'm talking about staring at an image that didn't load.
