Next May, Lucas wants the family to take a trip down to Universal for the Harry Potter thing. He and Karla are huge fans and we've always kicked around the idea of going but it always got pushed back.

So I started putting together one of their vacation packages. I figured with a 2-year-old we would definitely need to stay on-site for afternoon naps, so I started signing up for the HP-themed vacation package. When I saw the price for the package with 5-day tickets, something was bugging me, so I pulled up the pricing for their annual pass... Much cheaper... and, it gives me a discount on the hotel, free parking, discounts at the restaurants and shops, and more. Altogether, it saves over $1000 and that's after buying the few extra excursions a la carte that are included in the HP package. And on top of that, If we decides to go back in the fall, we've basically got free tickets...

If any of you dads (I'm looking at you, @xenon @Aqua-Letifer @89th ) are planning a vacation down to Orlando, consider just buying the annual pass. I understand that Disney works the same way...

I went to Universal Hollywood about 15 years ago

We only had one day there, but the annual pass was on sale cheaper than a daily ticket, just one day

And it had some extra perks too

They know that if you hold the daily pass you will be thinking about coming back and spending more

Good to know @LuFins-Dad ! We are thinking about going to Disney world in a year or two. I’ve never been but our daughter will like it. I also look forward to her watching HP in a few years too.
