Eh, no loss. I'm on a Fuji kick right now. A great apple: light everything -- light sweetness, light crispness.

Apples are a good cultural microcosm. Everybody has thoughts about them, because everybody experienced them. Everybody can differentiate about different types. And nobody really cares. They just prefer what they prefer.

Can I go on the record in saying I don’t like eating apples.
I can handle apple pie ala mode. And even apple sauce and certainly apple juice.
But I simply dont enjoy biting into a real apple. Gives me a bellyache.

Me too -- until they figured out a way to make them available out of season, when they're not nearly so good IMO.

I only eat them fall and winter. Spring and summer there are too many other fruits in season.

I go between Fuji and Honeycrisp. But there are so many good varieties out there.

I used to eat grannysmiths a lot but took a break... the tartness can be extreme!

I don't really see the point of apples. We buy them, they go off because nobody eats them, we throw them out.

We spend insane amounts of money on high quality fresh fruits. It's worth it. If you ask our kids whether they'd rather want a piece of fruit or one of the standard carb/fat godzillas, they'll usually choose fruit.

I prefer my own, but apple production is hit and miss down here. Helps if we have a cold winter.
The varieties I have are Golden Dorset and Anna. Both are tart, but not quite as much as a Granny Smith.

Must take a while... our apples seem to last years (ok, at least a few weeks) in the fridge.

My bike's a Fuji, my camera's a Fuji, and my favorite apple is a Fuji. WTF.
