Thanks! I would love to do that someday. I hope it becomes safe and affordable in the next few decades.

@mik there's a video out there in which the Shat talking about the feud between Takei and himself.
Link to videoNow, having linked that, it's not just Takei who had problems with the Shat. Doohan and Nichols both were critical because he hogged the camera, and they felt their roles were too small.
Takei responds - go to 1:15

I know there is animosity and I can certainly see Shatner as being a camera hog. It's a competitive business. But jeez - it was almost 60 years ago. Give it a rest.

One wonders if it is just a publicity thing for Takei, who is pretty savvy in social media. Nothing like a feud to keep eyes on.

I was never that enamored of his acting chops.

He was a Canadian Shakespearean actor. That's what you saw in Star Trek.
His best work was later in Boston Legal and Miss Congeniality.
Curiously enough, I was looking on IMDB and found that the Denny Crane and Alan Shore characters from BL actually originated on The Practice. I'll have to see if I can find those episodes.

Absolutely. He took the "Shat" personna and gave it to Denny Crane.
The first episode, where
ShatCrane comes to the new office is memorable. Can you imagine that being done today? So irreverent and so funny.

I don’t know how an actor “hogs the camera”, but I have heard that Shatner would steal lines in Star Trek. Which I take to mean he would say lines scripted to other actors, before the other could say them. That’s pretty douchey.

It was also 50 years ago. I'm not the same person I was at 16 and I don't hold grudges from the past. Takei is just seeking to stay relevant on social media where I believe he gets his income.
So tell me again who is the douchebag.

Takei can be a douche too, I don’t mind. But I believe the stories about Shat’s behavior as the star of Trek.

You'd think these guys were world-class actors like Adam Sandler the way they go on and on.
