    D3 just texted me:

    My coworker took her dog to her usual vet, just to be groomed. The vet accidentally cut the tail. So because my coworker couldn’t afford the $1200 at that clinic for surgery, they refused to return the dog. They wouldn’t even allow her to take it to a new vet. The refused to pay for the surgery to fix this. So they sent the dog to a shelter and was put down.

    I wonder if there's more to the story.
